OXFORD — Oxford’s Station House Community Center will host a bottle drive on Mar. 28 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The event is a benefit to support the Mission Working Dogs, founded by Christy Gardner, a wounded vet who raises and trains dogs to be service animals. The first class of dogs are graduating this April. More information about Gardner’s work is available at missionworkingdogs.org.
Gardner is fundraising to have a home and training facility built on Moxie Way in Oxford. The road is named after her own service dog. In addition to training, she is a para-Olympian with plans to try out for the Tokyo Olympics.
Gardner’s two dogs, Moxie and Lucky, will appear with her at the bottle drive. Copies of the children’s book “Lucky” will be on sale, along with tee-shirts for Mission Working Dogs.
