Lisa Sinclair took to Facebook to share the gruesome aftermath of her trip to Bunnings with her pup, Chelsea.
“Chelsea and I went to a Bunnings Warehouse store we had never been to before in Burleigh Queensland,” she told on Facebook.
“She was on her lead and we were on the escalator.
“As I stepped off I heard screaming turned around and her paws got stuck.”
Sinclair says the dog was required to undergo a partial amputation after a paw became stuck in the escalator.
“She was rushed to surgery and has extensive damage to both legs and one of her middle balanced toes has been amputated and similar damage to another foot,” she said.
She claims she has requested compensation from Bunnings over the veterinary fees but the company has not been forthcoming.
“The store tells me they are not responsible, that I have to file a compensation complaint which could take god knows how long,” she shared on a product review site.
“I’m currently not working so it’s very hard to even buy food.
“If Bunnings warehouse Burleigh Queensland had any morals they would pay my vet bill.
“I have the bill I have photos and they have the incident on camera.”
Bunnings Warehouse has been contacted for comment.
