A Bunnings customer has revealed the unbelievable lengths to which one store has gone for its furry visitors.
Sharing on Twitter, shopper Rebecca revealed that her local Bunnings hands out fake grass mats for dogs to sit on while moving around in the store’s trolleys.
Traditionally, pet owners use cardboard – found near the cashiers at Bunnings – or a blanket so that mini paws don’t slip through or become stuck in the trolley’s wire basket.
But it seems Rebecca’s local store has taken things to a whole new level.
“Our Bunnings now gives fake grass mat for them to sit on,” she said on Twitter.
A photo shows her gorgeous pooch sitting happily on the grass mat, in the top basket of a Bunnings trolley.

Bunnings pet policy
Bunnings pet policy states that pets are welcome in stores across Australia, as long as they are:
- Secured safely in a trolley
- On a lead and wearing a muzzle
- Carried by its owner or carer
The hardware chain adds that “assistance animals are always welcome”.
