Cold Nose Companions Dog Training is being sold by its founder Carol Peter of Chardon to Christine Good.
The Hartsgrove resident has worked for Cold Nose Companions for the past four years, according to a news release.
Cold Nose Companions provides group classes and private training to family dogs and their families. The trainers use only force-free, rewards-based training methods to ensure that training desired behaviors is stress-free and enjoyable for “both ends of the leash,” the release stated.
Peter founded Cold Nose Companions in 2009 doing private training throughout a five-county area in Northeast Ohio. The Cold Nose Companions Training Center in Hambden Township/Chardon opened in 2012.
Since inception, the company has provided training services to over 6,000 clients and their more than 7,000 dogs, the release stated.
As Peter focuses her training practice exclusively on separation anxiety, she will continue to consult with Cold Nose Companions over the next several months to ensure a smooth transition.
“I couldn’t be happier to see Cold Nose Companions continue under Christine’s leadership,” Peter stated in the release. “Christine is uniquely qualified to build on that legacy to help more people and their dogs.”
Good immigrated to the United States in 2002 from Germany, where she achieved the equivalent to a master’s degree in biology. In the United States, she started her career as an animal trainer at a wildlife center in 2004 with raccoons.
She is a registered veterinary technician with over 15 years of experience in the veterinary field.
She became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed in 2012.
“I am excited for this opportunity to bring all my skills and passions to the table,” Good said in the release. “I have a great team of talented, enthusiastic, and compassionate trainers, and we will carry on the success of Cold Nose Companions that Carol has built.”
