A Minnesota-based K9 officer has officially made the big time.
Niko, a cadaver dog who works for Valley Water Rescue in the Fargo-Moorhead area, will compete on A&E’s “America’s Top Dog” this week.
With the help of his handler and partner Allison Case, Niko will go through a series of obstacles courses and challenges for a chance at canine glory.
But what do Niko and Allison stand to win, exactly? If they win this week’s competition, they’ll receive a $10,000 cash prize plus another $5,000 to donate to the animal charity of their choice.
Winning the weekly competition also means coming back at the end of the season for a shot at the grand prize: another $25,000 and, of course, the title of “America’s Top Dog.”
You can meet Niko and Allison, who are based in Moorhead, and watch them at work in the video below:
They’ll be appearing on America’s Top Dog on Tuesday, at 7pm central time.
Here’s a taste of what the k9-handler team have in store:
Valley Water Rescue is a search-and-rescue service that is based in Fargo and operates in Cass and Clay Counties.
