COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — The Australian Cattle Dog has been named the most popular dog breed in Colorado Springs, according to a new report by Rover.
The second annual report ranks the top 20 most popular breeds across the country – and includes the top five most popular dog breeds in Colorado Springs that outpaced the national rank:
- Australian Cattle Dog
- Great Dane
- Australian Shepherd
- Siberian Husky
- Border Collie
National ranking:
- Mixed Breed
- Labrador Retriever
- Chihuahua
- German Shepherd
- Golden Retriever
Rover also surveyed 1,000 U.S. pet parents to find how they picked the right breed for their family. This year’s breed preferences “uniquely reflect the changing world around us: dog adoption rates have increased since the COVID-19 pandemic began, and nearly one-third of respondents said they adopted a dog while coronavirus social distancing measures have been in effect,” Rover said in a news release.
