The North Carolina Azalea Festival, in partnership with paws4people, invites your canine to strut across the stage for the second annual Paws on Parade Canine Court Pageant. The event, the Official Dog Garden ‘Paw-ty’ of the Azalea Festival, will be held on Saturday, July 31 at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater from 5-9 p.m.
Participants choose to enter their canines in one of four categories: best trick, best dressed, looks only a mama could love (ugliest), and best howler.
Registration is $25 and includes two free admissions to the Paws on Parade Day (for the dog’s human friends). Guests are encouraged to advance register their friendly, leashed canine for the official canine court pageant – where the festival searches for the Dog Azalea King and Queen. Winners will receive an invitation to walk in the Azalea Festival Parade in August and other festival prizes.

Don’t think your pup is stage ready, but still want to enjoy a day in the park together? Advance tickets are $5 per person (all friendly, leashed dogs are free). Tickets include admission to all the day’s events: dog vendors, a puppy kissing booth, access to watch the Canine Court Pageant (5:30 p.m.), and Machine Gun, which rocks out the stage at 7:30 p.m. A food truck and alcohol is also available for purchase.
Advance General Admission: $5 in advance (includes a garden ‘paw-ty’ commemorative sticker).
Tickets also available at the gate for $10; free for children under 10. The event is rain or shine.
