Huron Perth public health officials are looking for a dog that bit a cyclist in Stratford’s Avondale Cemetery Tuesday morning.
The bite happened shortly before 11:30 a.m., just off of the T.J. Dolan Natural Area trail that runs along the southeast end of the cemetery. Public health officials said the dog was described as a large, yellow-coloured goldendoodle or labradoodle, and was accompanied by three women at the time.
Huron Perth public health would like to check if the dog has up-to-date rabies shots. If the dog cannot be found, the cyclist who was bit will need to be vaccinated for rabies as a precaution.
The health unit is reminding residents to always collect the contact information for the owners of any domestic animal that bites a person. Anyone with information about this dog should contact Huron Perth public health at 1-888-221-2133 ext. 2245.
