LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A new dog training program is bringing together beer and dogs. It’s called “Hops and Hounds.”
The course involves a mix of online and in-person lessons.

Dog owners learn skills and techniques online then apply them in-person at People’s Brewing Company in Lafayette.
Owner of Whimsical Pup Training Christy Burton told News 18 the course is the perfect opportunity for both pets and people.
“Dogs are not going out and about like they were. People are not going out and about like they were.” Burton explained to News 18. “This is kinda just like socialization for the dogs and the people.”
Burton told us the creative idea was sparked from another pandemic work-around.
“Going to the Fresh Air Eats downtown was amazing to be able to do. We have so many dog-friendly breweries in town.” Burton told News 18 she wanted her program to also support local businesses.
The Hops and Hounds training course kicks off on February 22.
